Heart Failure Quality Standards

Heart Failure Quality Standards
Call for Committee Members

The Cardiac Care Network is proud to partner with Health Quality Ontario (HQO) to produce a quality standard for chronic heart failure.

Quality standards are developed with the input of a working group made up of clinicians, researchers, administrators, patients and caregivers with lived experience on this topic. This working group is known as the Quality Standard Advisory Committee (QSAC).  The heart failure QSAC will be co-chaired by Dr. Robert S McKelvie and Ms. Debbie Koriziewski.

The heart failure quality standard will address the diagnosis and management of heart failure in adults aged 18 years and older, with a focus on management in community and outpatient settings. The standard will address how to identify new or worsening symptoms of heart failure (dyspnea, fatigue, or edema), but will not provide guidance on the in-hospital management of acute exacerbations of heart failure.

HQO is seeking volunteers interested in joining the Heart Failure Quality Standard Advisory Committee. They are looking for patients, family members, informal caregivers, clinicians, administrators and researchers from across Ontario who will provide advice to support the development and adoption of the heart failure quality standard.
